Henry Prentiss is a ceramic artist living and working in Rockport, Massachusetts

I graduated from UMass Amherst in the Spring of 2023 with a degree in Photography, but simultaneously, I had found a new passion for pottery. I chose to follow this new passion, which led me to Niels Dietrich’s sculpture studio in Cologne, Germany. Afterwards, I travelled to Helena, Montana, to complete an Education Fellowship program at The Archie Bray Foundation.

Since returning home in the summer of 2024, I have had time to focus on making work that matters to me personally.

My goal is to make pottery that people can use and admire in their everyday lives. I want my work to elevate others’ relationships with their food and their experiences of sharing it with others. I know my work is successful when it fulfills its function well and looks good while doing it!
